TThis is a set of CDVs, mostly of uniformed Civil War Union generals. Half with the Brady backmark. Excellent condition. Priced individually or the whole set.

The first popular cook book's first edition. The key "first" point is the 1805 date at the very bottom of the frontis engraving. Modern rebind. Leaves trimmed but text overall VG condition.

Dollet, Lachouchie & Lesalle

855 hand colored lithographs bound into 10 half morocco vols. BACKGROUND: from 1840 -1875 Martinet published very finely detailed images of French actors & actresses. The actor name, part played & play/opera name on each litho. The actors facial features were accurately given. The coloring is superb. The set is best known as the definitive history of French theatrical costume. Colas 11569. 1000 printed in total but only a few at a time. Complete sets are unheard of. WorldCat lists no library with more than a few hundred. Our set is likely unique.

Near FINE text & plates. The first illustrated edition had 20 engravings. This is unique in that the 1628 editions title page and its 20 plates are also bound in. 1590 plate 1 next to 1628 plate 1, 1590 plate 2 next to 1628 plate 2, etc. Original juxtaposition likely bound mid 1600s. Rebound again in 19th century.
